4 sought in robbing, assaulting wheelchair-bound man in Bunnell home invasion

Deputies say suspects kicked, poked man with bat before stealing shotguns

BUNNELL, Fla. – A 60-year-old, wheelchair-bound man was thrown on the floor and robbed late Thursday night during a home invasion in Bunnell, deputies said.

The man told deputies that at about 11 p.m., four men entered his home on Espanola Road with an aluminum bat, threw him out of his wheelchair, kicked and poked him in the head and ransacked his house.

The suspects stole three nonoperational shotguns and the man's wallet. The victim said none of his medications was stolen.

After the suspects left his home, the man pulled himself up into his wheelchair and called the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, deputies said.

Deputies looked for the suspect in the immediate area of the home, but were unable to locate them.

The man was treated at the scene for an injury to his foot that occurred when a suspect stepped on him. He refused transport to the hospital.
