OCOEE, Fla. - Construction crews demolished the decades-old Ocoee Community Center on Wednesday to make room for a brand new center.

The original community center operated in Ocoee for 35 years.

The new building will "revitalize" the downtown area, according to city leaders.

It will have a wrap-around porch to provide views of nearby lakes and include a modern catering kitchen and banquet seating for more than 200 people.

"There will be no other event center like it in West Orange County," said Joy Wright, Community Relations Manager for Ocoee.

The new community center is expected to be open in November 2013.
