DeLAND, Fla. – Volusia County firefighters battled a semi tractor-trailer fire on Tuesday evening.
The fire started at the West Volusia Transfer Station on E. New York Avenue in DeLand at about 8:30 p.m.

Dozens of firefighters responded and prevented the fire from spreading to the building.
The semi tractor-trailer, valued at $80,000, was deemed a total loss.
Firefighters remained on scene throughout the night.
The cause is under investigation.
