Culprit points gun at back of clerk's neck in Palm Bay store

PALM BAY, Fla. - Palm Bay police are searching for the gunman who held up a store early Friday morning and dragged the clerk when she tried to escape.

Officers were called to the Circle K on Emerson Drive around 1:30 a.m. after getting reports of an armed robbery.

Palm Bay police told Local 6 the masked gunman entered the store and pointed a silver handgun at the clerk. The gunman walked behind the counter, put the gun to the back of the woman's head and stole money and cigarettes.

The woman tried to run to her car, but the gunman pulled her out of the vehicle and dragged her behind the Circle K before running away.

Officers and a K-9 tracked the man to Alesio Street before they lost him. Police believe the gunman got into a vehicle near Alesio Street and drove away.

Palm Bay officers are asking the public to help find the gunman. Anyone with information about the armed robbery is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
