The mother in the home woke up to see why it had been activated and saw flames in the room where three of her children were sleeping.

When firefighters arrived at the house, they found a blaze in the front bedroom where the children were, officials said.

Officials said firefighters were able to contain the fire to the bedroom, but smoke damage is seen throughout the house.

The State Fire Marshal investigated and found the cause of the blaze was from an iron that was left on and sitting on a top bunk of a bed.

It is estimated the house sustained $50,000 in damage, officials said.

There were no injuries reported at the time of this release. All tenants refused any medical treatment on scene, officials said.

The family is being assisted by the Red Cross.
