LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – An Orlando woman has been arrested for not paying a taxicab fare of more than $200, according to the Leesburg Police Department.

Deandra Ward, 22, racked up a cab-fare fee of $236 by taking a taxi from Tampa to Leesburg to meet a 13-year-old boy at his home.

According to police, the boy responded to one of Ward's online ads for massages, which was posted on backpage.com, a website notorious for prostitution disguised as massages and companionship.

When the taxi arrived at the boy's residence, Ward entered the home before paying the fare because she said the person she was meeting agreed to pay the cab fare, police said.

The boy, however, denied agreeing to pay her cab fare, and the driver went unpaid. That's when the taxi driver called police, according to the police report.

Ward told police she had proof that the boy agreed to pay the cab fare, but was unable to provide any proof at the time.

Police arrested Ward on charges of petit theft and booked her in the Lake County Jail.
