3 missing Orlando boaters found

Men seen 80 miles west of St. Petersburg

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Coast Guard found three Orlando boaters missing for more than a day and a half.

The Coast Guard spotted Charles Michael Lyons, 49, his brother Edward Lyons, 59, and their friend, only known as Mike, waving and cheering on-board their boat 80 miles west of St. Petersburg Friday afternoon. The search was about to be called off for the day.

They were last seen aboard a 22-foot pleasure craft at the Anclote River Boat Ramp near Tarpon Springs at 3 p.m. Wednesday, the Coast Guard said.

The Coast Guard in St. Petersburg said it was notified about the missing boaters Thursday evening by another brother of Lyons, who did not go fishing.  He said that his brother hadn't arrived at the ramp, where he was due Thursday at 6 p.m.

Lyons' brother said the boat was equipped with safety equipment and food and water.
