Beers for your Thanksgiving Feast

A craft beer menu for the holiday

ORLANDO, Fla. – Why limit your guests to wine on Thanksgiving when there are hundreds of varieties of craft beers available to discerning pallets?

Mandy Protheroe, a manager at Redlight Redlight in Audubon Park, put together a beer pairing menu for the big feast.

Beers to drink throughout the meal

Blagieus Darbyste - This Saisson made with fig juice is from Belgium.  It's really light and effervescent and really dry and would act as a palate cleanser throughout the meal.  It's available at Knightly Spirits on Orange Blossom trail for $12.99 in a 750 ml bottle.

Left Hand Oktoberfest -  This marzen style lager has a bread quality to it.  It would pair really well with stuffing but at the same time is not going to take away from the food.  It's available at Total Wine locations in a 6pack for $9.99

Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan - With it's nutty and malty earthiness, this would be an easy beer to drink throughout the meal.  It's available at Total Wine locations in a 6pack for $9.99.

Food Specific Beers

Castelain Blond Biere De Garde - This is similar to a Saisson but is French style with very light crisp earthy and grassy notes.  It would pair really well with turkey and stuffing. It's available at Total Wine for $10.99 for a 750 ml bottle.

The Bruary Autumn Maple - This beer would pair really well with dessert because it is made with yams, molasses and maple syrup.  It's a very boozy beer that could put you to sleep at the end of the meal.  Autumn Maple is available at Total Wine locations for $9.99 for a 750ml bottle.

All beers are also available at Redlight Redlight, 2810 Corrine Dr, Orlando
