ORLANDO, Fla. - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is in Central Florida this weekend.

The Republican governor is attending several fundraising events for Gov. Rick Scott including one Saturday morning in Orlando.

The trip is considered a big test for Christie. It's his first trip out of New Jersey since news broke earlier this month about a scandal involving traffic on the George Washington Bridge. E-mails revealed top Christie aides allegedly orchestrated closing lanes on the bridge to tie up traffic for days. The e-mails suggest the lane closures were political revenge against a Democratic local mayor. Christie apologized for what happened and fired one top aide.

In addition to the fundraiser in Orlando, two fundraisers are also planned in Palm Beach. All are private.

Democratic party leaders say they will shadow Christie during his weekend trip to continue to put pressure on him and Scott.
