Complaints: Tourists scammed by Orlando vacation company

Elite Vacation Solutions vanishes after confrontation

ORLANDO, Fla. -  A Canadian family's dream vacation to Mexico turned into a nightmare after they say they paid for a trip, showed up and found out they had no reservations. Now the Orlando company that booked the trip has disappeared.

Fred and Pamela Fellier came back to Orlando to vacation and confront the owners of Elite Vacation Solutions. Tuesday the owner gave them a check that was supposed to be a refund, but the bank couldn't cash it. When the couple showed up Wednesday, the business had seemingly packed up and moved out of its office.

Even former employees showed up Wednesday. One called the police to file a report about not receiving back pay.

Although state agencies that investigate consumer practices don't have any complaints filed against Elite or its owners, Donteds and Aubrynn Marshall, the Better Business Bureau tells Local 6 it's received six.

Those complaints come from California and Ontario to North Carolina and involve consumers paying for services they say they never received.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is asking anyone who has a complaint to contact it at 1-800-HELP-FLA.

The Marshalls have not returned calls from Local 6 for comment
