Cops: Man stole TV, hit clerk with fake gun

Culprit found hiding in nearby motel

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man was arrested late Tuesday after deputies say he swiped a big-screen TV, pistol whipped a clerk, and threatened a security guard with a box cutter.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, Roberto Rosado stole a 42-inch TV from a Kmart, which is located at 7825 S. Orange Blossom Trail.

Before he left the store, Rosado demanded cash and pistol whipped a worker when he refused to hand over the money, according to deputies.

Deputies say Rosado ran away, but was confronted by a security guard at a nearby motel.

After a brief scuffle, deputies say Rosado dropped the TV and a fake handgun.  Rosado then threatened the security guard with a box cutter and fled to a motel room, according to deputies.

Rosado was taken into custody after being bitten by a sheriff's K-9.  He faces charges of armed robbery and aggravated battery.
