Fire destroys Orlando apartment

2-alarm fire sends smoke billowing

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando Firefighters worked to extinguish a fire that completely destroyed and apartment Saturday afternoon.

The Orlando Fire Department was called out to the Rosemont Country Club Apartments at 5542 Cinderlane Parkway around 3:40 p.m. Saturday after reports of smoke showing from one of the apartments came into 911, officials said.

Firefighters said when they got to the complex, they could see heavy smoke coming from one of the units and quickly worked to put out the blaze.

Firefighters said they were able to get a handle on the fire quickly, but the apartment was completely destroyed.

The State Fire Marshal's office was called to investigate the cause of the fire.
