Games to cause Downtown Orlando detours

ORLANDO, Fla – In hours, the Florida Gators will begin their road to victory at the Amway Center.

The arena is hosting second and third-round games NCAA tournament basketball games Thursday and Saturday, including the Florida Gators.

The No. 1 ranked Gators will take on Albany on Thursday and tickets are selling out fast.

Basketball fans will swarm the Amway Center for a day of games as eight schools compete to be college basketball champions.

Orlando city officials are warning the NCAA tournament will cause several detours near the Amway Center.

Because of all the fans and media, several streets are closed.

Division Avenue between Church and South streets is already closed to make room for television trucks covering the games. That will remain closed until late Saturday night.

Church Street between Hughey and Division will also be closed all day Thursday and Saturday. At various times, the closure of Church Street could extend all the way to Orange Avenue.

Pine Street and Bob Snow Lane will also be closed under I-4 during the games.
