Lake County church pays for members' tattoos

Pastor offers to pay for anyone who agreed to get church logo tattoo

MOUNT DORA, Fla. – The pastor of The Cross Eastlake Church said he was being sarcastic when he offered to pay for anyone who agreed to get his church's logo tattooed on them.

Three people ended up taking him up on it.

Even though William Trigg already has a lot of tattoos, he decided to go for one more on Thursday night.

"I have 'In God We Trust' across my back and shoulders," he said.  "I've always been a Christian, and I've always believed what I've believed."

That's one reason why Trigg jumped when Pastor Zach Zehnder offered to pay for anyone to get the Mount Dora church's logo etched into their skin.

But there was another reason.

As a former drug addict, he says this church saved his life.

"They are responsible for number-1, paying $800 to allow me to get custody of my daughter to get her down here from Wyoming," he said.  "They are partly responsible for my mother having 17 months of sobriety after 30 years of having none."

In fact, his little girl watched dad get his new ink.
