ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando city commissioners are expected to approve a plan to spend close to $40 million dollars to renovate the Citrus Bowl and complete the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center.
According to Monday's agenda, the city needs to spend an additional $12 million to finance improvements at the Citrus Bowl. Those improvements will "make the stadium more competitive in bidding to host national and international events," according to the agenda.

In total, the city will spend $45 million to fund the Citrus Bowl renovations.
City leaders are also expected to spend $25 million dollars for the "Final Stage" of construction for the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center. According to the agenda, construction on the final phase of DPAC would "commence prior to January 31, 2015."
