Orlando police say a number of tips from the video led them to Carrillo, and the baseball bat, along with other evidence, has been recovered.

"I am so happy about (the arrest)!" Rebecca Naudasher, who suffered a head injury in the attack, said in an email to Local 6.  "That guy gets what he deserves."

Carrillo maintained his innocence as he was taken to the Orange County Jail, and he's scheduled to make his first court appearance in the case on Thursday.

Jail officials confirmed that Carrillo has been arrested twice before, once on charges of being a fugitive with warrants out of Connecticut and in 2010 on charges of aggravated battery.

The baseball bat attack happened around midnight on Saturday at the Grande Apartments in downtown Orlando on South Street.  Surveillance video shows two women being struck on the head several times in the attack.

Naudasher, 30, and a friend were were about to enter their apartment when a man wearing a shirt and tie came up from behind and beat them with a baseball bat.

"I always feel worse for my friend every time I see it," said Naudasher, who reviewed the surveillance video of the attack with Local 6.

After hitting the two women several times, the man stole Naudasher's purse then fled.
