Man charged with murder in shooting outside Orlando hospital

Brixton Dyer was already in jail on unrelated charges

ORLANDO, Fla. – The man who police say shot and killed a young father outside Orlando Regional Medical Center is set to appear in court on Wednesday.

Brixton Dyer, 19, was already jailed on unrelated robbery charges, but the murder charge was added Tuesday.

Police had named Dyer the prime suspect in the May slaying of 20-year-old father Alex Mazzan.

Police say Mazzan had just left the hospital after visiting a friend, when a man in a white car yelled at him to get back on the sidewalk.

That apparently led to an argument, which police say caused Dyer to open his door and shoot and kill Mazzan.

At this point police have not revealed what evidence they have linking Dyer to  Mazzan's homicide.
