Orlando woman embezzles $30K from non-profit, authorities say

Woman was working with Carl Hill Galloway Pioneer Club when embezzlement occurred

ORLANDO, Fla. – An Orange County woman has been arrested and charged with grand theft after investigators say she embezzled nearly $30,000 from a non-profit organization.

Kim McDaniel-Morgan, 47, was arrested and charged on one count of grand theft  after an arrest warrant was issued for her on Aug. 27 on allegations of embezzlement in both Orange and Seminole counties.

The investigation found that McDaniel-Morgan, while working for the non-profit Carl Hill Galloway Pioneer Club in Apopka, embezzled $27,647.10.

It is said that unauthorized business deposits into her personal checking account were being made since 2007; from Feb. 9, 2009 to Oct. 20, 2009 alone there were 34 fraudulent transactions made in Orange County. Orange County said this totaled to McDaniel-Morgan stealing $12,104.61 in that time period alone.

She was arrested and processed at the Lake County Jail on Thursday, released on a $2,500 bond. The State Attorney's Office, 9th Judicial Circuit will prosecute this investigation against McDaniel-Morgan.
