Security guard shot, killed at Orlando apartments identified

Man's body found near car wash area of Sabal Palm Apartments

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando police have released the name of a security guard at an apartment complex who they say was shot and killed.

Police said Allen McPherson, 48, was working for PCI Security when he was found lying on the ground near the car wash area at the Sabal Palm Apartments on Raleigh Street Saturday night.

Orlando police believe the shooting wasn't a robbery because nothing appeared to be taken from McPherson and they don't believe he had sensed any danger because his gun was still in his patrol vehicle not far from where his body was found.

"He was a real likeable guy," said Chester Sutorus, who was McPherson's neighbor. "We all liked him out here in Bithlo"

Local 6 reached out to McPherson's family, but they didn't want to comment.

Police are still investigating the incident. Call Crimeline at 407-423-TIPS if you have any information about the shooting.

Anyone with information is eligible to receive a cash reward up to $5,000.
