Southwest flight to Orlando makes emergency landing

Flight diverted due to 'pressure' issue

ORLANDO, Fla. – A Southwest flight heading to Orlando had to be diverted on Thursday due to a pressure issue.

Southwest Flight 271 originated in Philadelphia. According to the airline, the pilots were alerted to a potential issue with the pressure inside the plane.

The pilots made the decision to make an emergency landing at an airport in Norfolk, Va.

Once on the ground, the plane was inspected and approved to fly again. The 137 people on board took the same plane from Norfolk and landed safely at Orlando International Airport, according to Southwest.
