Theater considers adding texting aisle for technology-addicted moviegoers

Cellphone screens may soon light up darkened movie theaters.

AMC Theaters is considering a designated texting row for moviegoers who find it difficult to turn off their phone for an extended period of time.

According to various media reports, the company is considering an aisle reserved for people in the back row.

The issue gained national attention last week after reports that a Texas theater banned Madonna from its cinema for texting during the premiere of 12 Years A Slave.

AMC Theaters owns several cinemas in Central Florida.
