Report: '4 Rivers' expanding to eastern Orange County

ORLANDO, Fla. - The popular "4 Rivers Smokehouse" will expand and open a fourth central Florida location before the end of 2013, according to a report.

Restaurant owner John Rivers told the Orlando Business Journal he plans to open a new 4 Rivers Smokehouse at 11850 University Blvd., near the University of Central Florida.

According to the report, the new 4 Rivers would open in October.

Rivers told the Business Journal guests will be closer to the smoking and meats at the new restaurant. The University Boulevard location will also have a bigger in-house bakery, according to the report.

4 Rivers Smokehouse is also expanding out of central Florida with a Jacksonville location expected to open by May 15.

The popular central Florida barbecue chain currently has restaurants in Winter Park, Longwood and Winter Garden. The Winter Park location recently reopened in a new building.
