MELBOURNE, Fla. - Melbourne police continue to investigate a report of shots fired that left one woman injured late Wednesday, reports Florida Today.

Police officials said about 9:20 p.m. they got 9-1-1 reports of a disturbance with a weapon and shots fired at Landmark at Ocean Breeze apartments in the 1200 block of Palm Bay Road.

They found a woman injured in the parking lot there, police spokesman Sgt. Sheridan Shelley said.

"It's believed that the injury was not from a gunshot wound, it was from blunt trauma possibly from falling from a vehicle," Shelley said. The victim was a 22-year-old woman and her injuries were not life threatening, officials said.
