Lyman High School teacher arrested on additional charges after accused of sex with student

Scott Kimbrough arrested on sex assault charges

WINTER PARK, Fla. - Math teacher Scott Kimbrough, 39, of Winter Park, was arrested Wednesday night on three counts of sexual assault on a minor.

Now, Kimbrough has been arrested again on additional charges.

Kimbrough will face termination at the next school board hearing after he was arrested on suspicion of having sex with a student.

According to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, Lyman High School officials contacted law enforcement on Wednesday after they learned of possible inappropriate activity between a teacher and a 17-year-old female student.

Deputies said the female student told a friend that on three occasions she went to Kimrough's house and had sex with him. The friend then reported the information to school administrators.

The sexual abuse is believed to have occurred over the past three months at Kimbrough's Winter Park home, said deputies, who interviewed the girl.

Kimbrough was taken to jail and released on bond early Thursday.

Investigators said they're looking into the possibility of additional victims.

Students say they were surprised to hear of the allegations.

"He was a really cool teacher I'm not going to, lie I didn't know him that well but he was not that bad of a teacher," said Dalton White.

Kimbrough faces termination at the next school board meeting, which is scheduled for May 15 at 6 p.m.
