ORLANDO, Fla. - Lawyers for the man accused of raping and killing an Orlando woman in 2015 have filed a motion to toss out statements he made to police.
Stephen Duxbury is charged with murder in the death of Sasha Samsudean, who was found dead in her apartment at Uptown Place on North Orange Avenue. Duxbury worked at the complex as a security guard.
The new motion focuses on statements Duxbury gave during and after his lie detector test. Defense attorneys argue the statements were not freely given.
Duxbury's trial is scheduled to start Nov. 13.
