Man accused of sexually assaulting juveniles at Brevard church

William Berch, 20, threatened boy with screwdriver, bullet over sex acts

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. - A 20-year-old man was arrested on allegations of sexually abusing at least two juveniles at a Brevard County church.

Anthony William Berch, of Cocoa, was arrested Tuesday on multiple charges, including two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior and simple assault with intent to threaten to do violence.

According to police, Berch sexually assaulted the individuals in separate incidents at Faith Life Outreach Christian Kathedral in Rockledge.

Rockledge police said the father of one of the victims contacted officers on Sunday about a sex attack that occurred two weeks prior.

Police said Berch tried to force the boy to perform a sex act and when the child refused, he threatened him with a screwdriver and a bullet. Berch also told the child if he told anything about what happened he would kill him, according to police.

Meanwhile, on Monday, according to police, another person came forward, saying Berch sexually assaulted a 9-year-old girl at the same church on Saturday.

Police said the girl told them she was groped by Berch at a church dance on Saturday.

Berch was arrested and taken to the Brevard County Jail.

Rockledge police investigators said they believe there is a possibility of additional victims.

Anyone with more information about Berch is urged to call the Rockledge Police Department.
