Man accused of shooting at George Zimmerman gets help with legal fees

The man accused of shooting at George Zimmerman filed a motion on Tuesday saying he doesn't have enough money to pay for his legal fees.

Matthew Apperson is facing second-degree attempted murder charges after prosecutors say he shot at Zimmerman last year during a confrontation along Lake Mary Boulevard.

Apperson says he fired that shot in self-defense after Zimmerman pointed a gun at him first.

The judge granted Apperson's indigency motion.

Apperson was out on bail in the shooting, but it was revoked after he was charged in a separate case.

Zimmerman was acquitted in the 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
