FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. - A Flagler County man was arrested on Monday after deputies say he pushed his mother to the ground during a fight about finances.

Robert Cowart Sr., 57, has been charged with battery on a person over 65 years old after the incident.

Deputies said Cowart told his mother that half of the Cowart Ranch was his and that his mother needed to pay him. When his mother said that wasn't going to happen,  Cowart slammed both of his fists on the table and grabbed her checkbook, cops said.

According to the report, as Cowart's mother tried to get her checkbook back, Cowart pushed her to the floor, causing her to fall and hit her head on the right side. The mother suffered a bruise, but refused medical attention, deputies said.

When deputies interviewed Cowart, he said the incident was "just some bull****" and claimed nothing happened, according to the report.

Cowart was taken to Flagler County jail.
