MELBOURNE, Fla. - A West Melbourne man has been arrested on a charge of battery after an argument that apparently started over chicken nuggets.

Local 6 affiliate Florida Today reports police went to the 1500 block of Manzanita Street NW in Palm Bay to investigate a report of a domestic violence battery. Police talked to a boy who said his uncle, John J. Valentin, 19, was upset that the boy had cooked too many chicken nuggets.

After the boy went to his room, an argument between his mother and Valentin continued, according to a police report.

Florida Today reports that Valentin is accused of hitting his sister and knocking her to the ground before fleeing the home. He was found and arrested a short time later.

According to the police report, Valentin said his sister was standing close to him and that she hit him when he asked her to move away. The report also says that after being hit, she fell to the ground and was unconscious. She was taken to a hospital for treatment of her injuries.
