LONGWOOD, Fla. - Seminole County deputies are searching for the men they say beat a man in the head with a baseball bat outside the Longwood Graffiti Junktion.

Deputies said the aggravated battery was reported on Aug. 24 just before 2:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the restaurant on Wekiva Springs Road.

The victim, Brian Lassiter, 29, was involved in a fight with two men at the bar, which later escalated and resulted in the second confrontation, deputies said. According to the report, Lassiter was hanging out with the duo before the fight ensued.

Deputies said Lassiter was hit with the bat five or six times.

According to the report, when deputies arrived, they found Lassiter on the ground and bleeding heavily. He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Local 6 spoke with the victim's father, Richard Lassiter, and he said his son has an uphill battle to recovery, saying his son is still heavily bruised all over his face and back from the baseball bat.

"He has fractures around his eye and the back of his head. I don't know how many staples he has but its pretty bad," said Richard Lassiter. "Pain, hurt, I don't think anybody should go through that as a parent. How could someone do that to another human being?"

Local 6's Amaka Ubaka asked Richard Lassiter what his message would be to the two suspects responsible.

"Why would you do that to a human being? You need help, it's ridiculous," said Richard Lassiter.

Deputies said the two men believed to be involved were caught on surveillance video leaving the restaurant.

Anyone with information about the incident asked to call Crimeline 1-800-423-TIPS.
