Video shows man knocking out woman for no apparent reason

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection to an attack of a 76-year-old woman that was caught on video.

Police said several calls were received about Wingo's identity based on the recent news broadcast that showed video of him knocking out a 76-year-old woman with one punch for no apparent reason.

The unprovoked attack happened about 11:45 a.m. Wednesday on a sidewalk in the 200 block of South Ridgewood Avenue in Daytona Beach.

According to Daytona Beach police, the woman was walking on the sidewalk when the man approached her and said, "Where's the f****** police? Where's the f****** police?"

The woman said she was confused and didn't answer the man, who punched her in the face with a closed fist, knocking her to the ground, police said.

The woman suffered a possible broken nose, bruised eye and possible brain swelling, police said. She was taken to Halifax Hospital for treatment.

Wingo will be charged with aggravated battery on a person 65 years or older, police said.
