Man choked teen after being flipped off, Palm Bay police say

57-year-old faces charges of child abuse, battery

PALM BAY, Fla. - It began with a middle finger.

Palm Bay police say a 57-year-old man choked a 16-year-old last Thursday after the teen made the rude gesture.

Documents say Edward L. Lepore became angry during an argument when the boy stuck up his middle finger. He drove after the teen until the boy stopped his car and asked Lepore to stop following, according to officials.

Police say Lepore reached into the window of the teen's car and choked him.

He faces charges of child abuse and battery.
