Man forgets gun in son's backpack, arrested after retrieving it at school

Parent saw man put pistol in waistband

A Florida man was taken to jail after he had gone to his son's school to retrieve a handgun he said he had forgotten in his son's backpack.

Authorities say Ramon Nuiry, 57, arrived to his 8-year-old child's elementary school and asked to see his son along with his backpack. Nuiry apparently told police he forgot he had placed his pistol in his son's backpack and wanted to take it home. Video surveillance shows Nuiry taking the pistol and placing it in his waistband. Another parent witnessed the incident and notified authorities.

According to the Miami Herald, Nuiry was charged with possessing a weapon on school grounds, improper exhibition of a weapon and possession of a concealed firearm.
