Arraignment continued in 'Mother of Satan' explosives case

Jared Coburn, 37, charged with manufacturing an explosive device

DeLAND, Fla. – The man who Volusia County deputies say had "Mother of Satan" explosives inside his home was expected to formally enter a plea Wednesday in court, but his arraignment was continued.

Jared Coburn, 37, was arrested last month after a tip led deputies to his home on Pennsylvania Avenue in DeLand.

Coburn's arraignment is now scheduled for Jan. 9.

Investigators said they found explosives dubbed "Mother of Satan," which have been used by terrorists in the past.

Deputies said Coburn told them he was using the explosives to make fireworks.

Coburn was initially let out on bond, but he was later ordered back to jail until his trial.
