Man indicted in Carnival cruise ship rape

Investigators say 31-year-old forced girl, 15, to have sex on ship

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. - A Central Florida man accused of raping a 15-year-old girl on a cruise ship was indicted on Friday.

31-year-old Casey Dickerson was booked into Orange County Jail after he and four other boys held down the girl and took turns having sex with her while on the Carnival Sensation cruise.

In the criminal complaint, the boys backed part of victim's story, saying Dickerson encouraged them to have sex with both the victim and her friend who is also 15 years old. However, the boys told federal agents, "they did not hold the victim down" and she "was inebriated to the point where she could not resist."

Dickerson was on the August cruise with his wife, who complained about noise and so the cruiseline gave the couple a second room and they kept both. According to the criminal complaint, Dickerson's wife had no idea what went on because Dickerson told her he was "hanging out with the fellas." He later admitted to having "had sex with other women" on the cruise.

Dickerson denied having sex with the alleged victim, saying "he was drunk and that he did not know when anything got "sexual"" with the girl. He finally told federal agents he "was not sure that he had sex" with the young girl.

He is set to be arraigned on September 20.

The boys have not been charged.
