Man pointed gun at drivers while weaving through traffic, deputies say

Young girl was in the back seat during incident

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A young girl was in the back seat as a man drove through Kissimmee pointing his gun at other drivers, forcing them to allow him to weave through traffic, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

A driver called authorities around 7:15 a.m. Thursday saying he was driving on Pleasant Hill Road when a maroon Chevrolet Camaro that had been weaving through cars pulled up next to his vehicle and pointed a gun at him, the charging affidavit said.

The victim slowed his vehicle down so the Camaro could cut in front of him. He said he was afraid he would be shot if he didn't. He said he saw the driver do the same thing to other vehicles in the area.

Deputies located the Camaro and its driver, 47-year-old Ricardo Delgado, nearby. A young female child was in the back seat of the vehicle, according to the affidavit. The child attends a day care that's within 1,000 feet of where the traffic stop occurred.

During a search, a black handgun and rolled marijuana were found under the vehicle driver's seat, deputies said. In the trunk, they found another pound of marijuana.

Deputies said Delgado resisted arrest, so they had to use a Tazer to subdue him.

Delgado is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed weapon, careless display of a firearm, resisting arrest without violence, aggravated child neglect, possession of cannabis with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a day care, possession of cannabis with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
