Man pulls gun on McDonald's drive-thru worker, Daytona Beach police say

Daytona Beach police search for James Simmons

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Daytona Beach police are searching for a man they say pulled a gun on a McDonald's drive-thru worker after yelling expletives at him.

Police said James Simmons, 20, pulled up to the drive-thru intercom at the McDonald's on International Speedway Boulevard to order Tuesday night and was very rude to the worker. The worker said he advised Simmons he would have to go somewhere else to be served, according to the report, to which Simmons started calling the worker names.

Simmons then pulled up to the window, shouted, "You ain't ready," and then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the worker before driving away, police said.

Police said when they attempted to stop Simmons, he drove away and a pursuit began, according to the report.

The vehicle crashed and Simmons took off on foot.

Anyone with any information on the incident or on Simmons' whereabouts is asked to call police.
