ORLANDO, Fla. - Authorities are investigating after a man was shot at a gas station in Orlando, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.
The shooting took place about 3:24 p.m. in a crowded parking lot at the RaceTrac station, at 1819 Alafaya Trail, deputies said. Many people were in the area at the time, and the situation made for a scary scene.

“I ran inside the store (and) right before I got to the door, I heard like, five shots -- ‘pop pop pop,’” said a witness, who didn’t want his name used or his face shown. “I was thinking, someone is fixing to fight over here. The passenger door opened, the young guy with the white shirt and a mask on -- he popped out. He had his hands and a gun over the car.”
That’s when the witness ran inside, he said, and he gathered everyone he could into the back of the store.
“I grabbed the kids and I put them back inside,” he said. “... The people that did this, they had zero (empathy) for other people in this life, because they almost took some other people and some children with them.”
The pair involved in the argument exchanged words, before the gunman, who was not immediately identified, shot the victim in the leg.
The man's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, deputies said. He was taken to Florida Hospital East.
Authorities said it could have been a case of road rage, but the victim and man responsible appeared to have known each other.
