Man shot during Orange County home invasion

Victim taken to Orlando hospital with significant injuries

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 37-year-old man was shot and "significantly injured" Thursday night during an Orange County home invasion, deputies said.

The shooting was reported at 9:27 p.m. in the 4400 block of Crossen Drive, south of Goldenrod Road near Three Points Elementary School in Orlando.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to the home and found the man with a gunshot wound to his torso.

Deputies said the victim was alert and conscious when he was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was in guarded condition with significant injuries.

Deputies said a man suspected of shooting the victim fled the home. A search failed to locate the suspected shooter, described by deputies only as a black man in his 30s.

No other details have been released.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call authorities.
