OCALA, Fla. – A Marion County brother and sister have been charged with burglary and grand theft after deputies say they found their van packed with Frito-Lay chips stolen from a distribution center.

Deputies said Darren L. Hagerman 25, and Jessica L. Huggard, 22, were spotted riding in a blue Ford van on Highway 40 in Ocala Thursday night and pulled over when a deputy saw a 2-year-old jumping in the backseat.
According to the report, the deputy found the van packed with Frito-Lay chips during the traffic stop. When asked where the chips came from, Hagermen said he and his sister take the chips as a way to generate income.
"I got the chips from the dumpster," Hagerman told authorities.
The deputy found that Hagerman had a master key that worked on the gate lock at the Frito-Lay factory, according the report. It appears Hagerman doesn't work at the factory.
Hagerman and Huggard were arrested and the child was given to a relative.
Local 6 spoke to the father who said his son and daughter shouldn't have been breaking and entering, but said it was OK for them to be there because someone gave them a key to enter the property. He said they took the chips from the dumpster and did not steal fresh items from inside the center, which he helps sell to friends.
