OCOEE, Fla. – A homeowner said a man walked right down her front porch with a dog on a leash, and then took a package off her doorstep.
The video shows the man with a bag covering his face.
"I was terrified, absolutely terrified. It was so scary to know there was somebody outside of my house while I was sleeping," Tracy Gutierrez said.
The man gets to door and the dog patiently waits, as he scoops up the package into a black bag. Seconds later, he walks off casually with the pup.
"He came prepared. He knew I had cameras outside and he had a bag over his head, covering his face," Gutierrez said.
Gutierrez said she woke up to a startling call from her husband who was all the way in Argentina.
"It's 4 a.m. and my husband calls me in a panic saying there's somebody outside of our front porch, so I go downstairs, completely dark outside. There's nobody out there," she added.
Tracy said she wasn't expecting the package until tomorrow and had no idea it was even outside.
"I didn't know anything was on my front porch. I guess he did. He came by early in the day, scoped it out, saw I wasn't home. My car is in the garage, so he came by at night and took it," Gutierrez said.
So frightened by what happened, she posted the video on Facebook. Some neighbors said they think they recognize the man and his dog.
"You don't just take your dog, park and walk up. I think he lives in the area, especially to be walking his dog that late at night," she added.
News 6 reached out to police to get results, showing them the video of the man. They told News 6 that a similar incident happened not far from Gutierrez's home, just the day before. In that case, balloons, a card and candy were stolen off the doorstep. Now they're working to see if the two are connected.
