ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - A manhunt is underway for two gunmen who shot a man outside an Altamonte Springs apartment.

The apparent robbery and shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Altamonte Villa Apartments complex on Orienta Avenue just south of Semoran Boulevard near Florida Hospital Altamonte.

Altamonte Springs police said three victims were sitting outside on the porch at the apartment when two men went to rob them, pistol-whipping one victim and shooting the other, Guadalupe Cerro Blanco, in the abdomen.

Investigators think the gunmen may have wanted money from the victim, but what they found was a cellphone and other belongings on the ground. Family members say the victim was still able to talk to them, saying, "They shot me."

Investigators hope he will be able to provide more details as he recovers.

Police canvassed the area with flashlights as they looked for evidence; they also used a helicopter and K-9s.  The K-9s followed a scent for a few blocks, but it abruptly ended.

Police said they believe the crime is a random act and urge anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call police.
