Masked Man Robs Convenience Store Twice

Authorities Asking For Help In Masked Robber's Capture

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. - The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a man suspected of two robberies near Daytona Beach.

Authorities said the man who robbed a 7-Eleven at 1200 Flomich St. about 4:16 a.m. on May 9 was the same man who attempted to rob the same store on May 14 at about 2:34 a.m.

The robber got away with cash from the first holdup but did not leave with any cash from the second attempted robbery, and no one was injured in either incident, authorities said.

The Sheriff's Office said the victims' description of the man and the surveillance video of the robbery point to the possibility that the same person committed both crimes.

The robber was described as a man about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. During both crimes, the man had on blue jeans, a long-sleeved flannel shirt and a black full-faced ski mask.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Investigator Richard Graves at 386-323-0151 or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 888-277-TIPS.

Tips can also be provided by sending "TIP231" plus the message in a text message to CRIMES.

Anyone who provides information to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and can qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
