MELBOURNE, Fla. - Melbourne police are searching for a man who they say robbed the Florida Business Bank on Wednesday but left something important behind: his gun.

According to Local 6 News partner Florida Today, police said the man walked into the bank at 340 North Harbor City Blvd. around 3 p.m., drew a gun from his pants and demanded money from a teller, who complied.

As the man was collecting the money, he put his gun on the counter. The teller grabbed the gun away from the man, who then stuffed the money into his military-style backpack and fled.

He was last seen heading north on Babcock Street from Circle Avenue riding a light-colored bicycle.

Police describe the man as white, in his late 40s or early 50s, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 160 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a blue sleeveless shirt, light colored plaid shorts, a camouflage hat and white sneakers.
