VERO BEACH, Fla. – "Jaws" may keep some people out of the ocean, but now another monster may prevent them from going to the beach altogether.
A 12-foot alligator was spotted near the Mooring Yacht & Country Club on Vero Beach in Indian River County, prompting a call to authorities.

Deputies helped a trapper remove the beast, which was crawling on the sand near Saint Christopher Lane.
Trapper Justin Morrison said the alligator appeared worn out from trying to get past the waves. He tied up the animal's limbs and covered its eyes. Morrison said Florida rivers are filled with alligators, but it's rare to find one on a beach.
The gator was relocated to a remote area.
No injuries were reported.
