Motorcyclist ID'd in Cape Canaveral crash involving deputy patrol car

Motorcyclist identified as Ronald Lutrario, 33, of Cocoa Beach

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A Cocoa Beach motorcyclist died after crashing into a Brevard County sheriff's deputy's patrol vehicle in Cape Canaveral Tuesday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The crash took place just before 2 p.m., when the motorcyclist, 33-year-old Ronald Lutrario, was riding eastbound on East Central Boulevard above the speed limit, News 6 partner Florida Today reported. Deputy Carmine Siniscal, 67, was driving his patrol car westbound on the road and attempted to make a left turn onto Circle Drive, according to troopers.

Siniscal drove in front of the unidentified motorcyclist, FHP reported. The front of the Honda motorcycle reportedly struck the right side of the deputy's Dodge Charger.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, according to troopers. He was transported to Cape Canaveral Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
