Troopers said a Chevy Tahoe traveling right behind Kelchner subsequently ran over Kelchner, swerved and traveled across the lanes before coming to a rest on a grassy shoulder.

The FHP said another vehicle believed to have ran over Kelchner did not stop at the scene.

Troopers said charges are pending.
