New arrests made in Lux nightclub shooting

4 people total arrested in shooting death of 17-year-old

Asante Jones, 18, is charged with accessory to murder.

Orlando police have arrested two new suspects in the March homicide outside Lux nightclub of a 17-year-old.

Terron McCarty,was shot and killed March 21 outside the Lux Ultra Lounge on International Drive.

A 17-year-old is accused of giving false statements in a felony case and Asante Jones, 18, is charged with accessory to murder, police said. Both suspects were arrested Thursday.

Two others were arrested in April, Daeshawn Simmons,17, was arrested on a charge of first-degree murder with a firearm. Levar Ferguson, 18, was also arrested in the case and charges with accessory to murder.

Orlando police investigators said they found McCarty shot in the back of the head and the leg in the parking lot of the club. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Witnesses told police the shooting started from a fight inside the club, which was hosting an event called "Spring Break Teen Bash" for 14- to 18-year-olds.

Detectives said they are still investigating the homicide.
