New businesses to be added by Orlando Executive Airport

Wawa, Microtel, Gordon Food Service to be built

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority has approved the addition of three new businesses in the area around the Orlando Executive Airport, including a hotel, a marketplace food store and a Wawa convenience store.

The hotel will be a 74-room Microtel Inn & Suites operated by Wyndham hotels and will be built on 1.78 acres of land at the corner of Amelia and Maguire Boulevard, next to Sheltair Orlando Jet Center.

A Gordon Food Service Marketplace Food Store will also be built, and will be on 2.12 acres of commercial property at the Southeast corner of Colonial Drive and Calvin Street. The building will hold approximately 16,045
square feet of shopping retail space when complete.

The Wawa Food Market and gas station will be located on a 2.14
acre parcel of land at the Southwest corner of Colonial Drive and Rickenbacker Drive. The Wawa will be approximately 5,500 square feet.

The businesses are expected to promote economic growth of the area by attracting patrons and other new businesses to the area.

Authorities have not said when construction will begin on the new businesses.
