OCALA, Fla. - Ocala police are still searching for a man accused of stealing an undisclosed amount of money and a cordless phone from a BP gas station on Wednesday after requesting to use the station's phone.

Cops say that Joshua K. Fox, 24, entered the store at 3821 S.W. College Rd. and asked to use the phone after saying his car had broken down and he needed assistance. After lingering for about half an hour, the suspect allegedly took money from the store's register and left, still holding the cordless handset to the station's phone.

Although he did not display a weapon, police say the stolen handset prevented the owner from contacting authorities immediately.

Authorities say Fox drives a 1997 white Ford Ranger. He was last seen at his job at the Holiday Inn Express on Baseline Road.

Anyone with information on the location of Fox is asked to contact the Ocala Police Department at 352-369-7000 or contact Crime Stoppers of Marion County at 352-368-STOP (7867), www.ocalacrimestoppers.com, or text to 274637 Key word 368STOP.
